Come and get it or Come get it?
Watching a video clip this morning and the Portuguese subtitles to the song went like this:
If you're ready come and get it
Se estiver pronto, venha e pegue.
This is a classic example of a word for word translation, since in English we tend to insert "and" between two verbs. We even have a lot of expressions that use this combination.
hit and run
stop and go
touch and go
run and hide
But it would be strange in Portuguese.
