Trending - Trendando?

Social media is probably one of the sources of English words that have been "Brazilianized" - if we take Twitter as an example, we have words like 'tuitar" (tweet), 'quotar' (quote) "likar" (like). The screenshot above shows us one of these words that, IMHO, does not need to undergo this word formation process, cosnidering there is a word or expression that can do the job.

The term "trending topics" refers to news or stories that everyone is talking about on the social platform. They are what we call "the talk of the town" "the buzz words".

In terms of equivalence, the verb "bombar" seems more than appropriate - so much so that it appears in the image above. The question is, why use "trendar" then?

Another expression I believe that could also be used in its place is "na boca do povo" or "quentíssimas". Any other ideas?
